California technology firm Intel is among those investing into Raleigh startup K4Connect.

The company announced Monday that it has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Intel Capital with participation from RGAx LLC (a subsidiary of Reinsurance Group of America), Traverse Venture Partners and existing backers.

K4Connect is the brainchild of Scott Moody, the entrepreneur behind AuthenTec. It, along with its TouchID technology, sold to Apple in 2012.
