The number of seniors in the U.S. continues to increase, according to research and a report by the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. By 2030, the number of people 50-and-over is projected to be 132 million, or about 20 percent of the population. Even among people aged 80 and over, more than 75 percent still live independently. Technology can assist and empower people who choose to “age in place” as well as those who live in senior living facilities.
K4Connect was founded specifically to help older adults and people with disabilities. The point is to create smarter living environments for healthier lives and family and community involvement by giving people a meaningful way to access the Internet of Things (IoT).
