Technology can have many positive impacts on the lives of older adults, but as we’ve previously discussed in the K4Blog, the design of these products needs to go beyond simple font increases. There are so many products on the market these days that are focused on keeping people of all ages more attuned to their health and fitness goals. In developing K4Community, our flagship solution for senior living, we partnered with Garmin to integrate their fitness trackers into our platform. As a result, residents that live in communities that have K4Community are easily able to track their progress toward their fitness goals using any connected smartphone, tablet or computer. Through the use of their Garmin step trackers and the K4Community app, they can track their progress and see how their steps stack up to others. (Nothing like some friendly competition to keep people active!)
